Second Sunday Spotlight: Calder-Picasso
Join Pac Rim members at the newly-reopened de Young Museum for Calder-Picasso on April 11, 2021.
The exhibition is the first American venue for the exhibition, and "features more than 100 sculptures, paintings, drawings, and graphics by Alexander Calder (1898–1976) and Pablo Picasso (1881–1973), two of the most innovative and influential artists of the twentieth century."
The show is conceived and curated by Alexander Calder’s grandson Alexander S. C. Rower and Pablo Picasso’s grandson Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, and reveals both the parallels and diverging visions of these two great artists.
Museum hours for Sunday: 9:30 am to 5:15 pm. The exhibition will close on May 23, 2021. Tickets are timed every 15 minutes with social distancing applied.
Tickets online are sold out!
Co-chairs Catherine Daley and Eileen Fitz-Faulkner will be in the garden area for a socially distanced/masked meet-and-greet, noon-1:30 pm. Be sure to drop by and say hi! Both Catherine and Eileen have tickets for the 9:30 am viewing.
