Our fund-raising tour of Oliver Ranch was a complete hit: we raised $3,000 for PRS! PRS members and guests had the perfect blue-sky day to tour the Geyserville site which is home to over 18 remarkable site-specific installations. Our guests included new PRS members who were delighted to meet in person as well as board members and art enthusiasts. Here is a link of the artists: https://oliverranchfoundation.org/artists/

Interested in volunteering on the Events Committee? Help us connect our PRS community to each other again after years of separation. We need assistance setting up in field trips, meet ups, studio visits and more! Send us an email events@pacificrimsculptors.org.

About the move to move to their new home, a 160-year-old coastal Victorian homestead, Jess says “Flynn Creek Pottery nurtured idealism, creativity, and growth for a lot of people, so it’s fitting that we now give our family of creative people a place to grow.” Susannah Israel looks forward to the opportunity for deep conversations on art and life and the exciting opportunity to fire new work in the anagama kilns at Cider Creek. Cider Creek Collective is at 36525 Albion Ridge F Rd, P.O.Box 869, Albion, CA 95410 https://www.cidercreekcollective.com/

Jane Ingram Allen

Jane Ingram Allen received a Surface Design Association Educator Grant for 2023. The Educator Grant is based on artistic and technical merit, and the potential for personal scholarship and research. Jane's grant project is to design and build a large papermaking mold and deckle that can be used in the hand papermaking workshops and classes she teaches at various locations. This summer she will again be teaching at Sitka Center for Art & Ecology, Otis, OR (www.sitkacenter.org), and she will be able to take the new large papermaking mold to use in the class. Her husband Timothy S. Allen came up with the idea of making a foldable hinged mold so that it can fit in an ordinary car behind the front seat, and then easily be opened out to its 7 feet x 3 feet size to make really big sheets of handmade paper.

Natasha Dikarev

Natasha Dikarev is exhibiting her work in an exhibition titled Wishing You Blue Skies from June 28 – July 30, 2023, at Seacoast Artist Association Gallery, 230 Water Street, Exeter, NY. About the exhibition she says, “This exhibition is an homage to the incredible resilience of my fellow Ukrainians and a tribute to the power of compassion during difficult times. Through my art, I hope to not only shed light on the ongoing war in Ukraine but also to highlight the strength and beauty that persist amid the turmoil.”

Doug Cain

Doug Cain is exhibiting his work in an exhibition titled Experiential Portraits in the Post-Digital Age. For the first time a new form of 3-D portraits will be shown that are interactive and multi-sensory in a solo show by D.D. Cain. These sculptures, installations, and wall hangings integrate multiple sensory materials and devices that reflect the subject's life and identity. These new portrait mediums also provide new content and meaning beyond the boundaries of a visual portrayal. Art reception is July 12, 2023, at Public Wonder Gallery, 1895 Union St. San Francisco.
