PRS NEWS -- November 8, 2023

From the President

PRS was well-represented at the International Sculpture Center Conference this year, held in Jersey City, NJ. Three board members Catherine Daley, Eileen Fitz-Faulkner & I attended, as well as several members. Catherine and I shared artwork from PRS members at an affiliate group panel discussion. Visiting the Grounds for Sculpture, a 42-acre sculpture garden, and participating in an aluminum pour were among the highlights of the conference.

Susannah Israel

Susannah Israel has been selected as an Artist in Residence at Kala Art Institute, Berkeley, CA, for 3 months, November 2023 - January 2024.

She says, “I am honored and excited to be accepted to the AIR Program at Kala Art Institute for the upcoming session. This gives me a space and place to complete the ASPHALT & HONEY project I began in 2022. I will be composing and printing large background images to create the environment for the figures. Kala's beautiful, spacious gallery also provides a site for public access, which has been a major challenge. Last and perhaps most exciting, I will be able to engage with an international community of exceptional artists, many of whom share my focus on justice work.”
