From the PresidentHappy Spring! I hope you’re well and have time to create. Please consider joining our board. We need more member involvement as we currently have three vacant positions. And - we will have another one later this year. Working on the board is rewarding. It’s great to watch and plan how the organization is going along. It’s lovely working with fellow sculptors, and it’s fun! We only have board meetings about three or four times annually, and you can join via Zoom. Thank you for considering. Please reach out to me if I can answer any questions - president@pacificrimsculptors.org Barry Beach President, PRS Board of Trustees A few of the PRS Board hard at work before joining with PRS members at the SFMOMA, 2023. BOARD COMMITTEE UPDATESTo the PRS member community,
On behalf of the PRS organization, we want to encourage your help and involvement in one of our committees! It takes a village effort to find curators and exhibiting spaces, as well as orchestrating member meetups, other field trips, and more. Bigger things can happen when we bring our collective minds together! Please consider joining one (or all if your ambitious!) of our three committees Exhibitions, Events and Communications. See below for more information about what our committees are up to. Briona HendrenOperations Manger, PRS _ EXHIBITIONS COMMITTEE

The opening reception of "A Question of Balance" at the Museum of Sonoma County (MSC) at the end of last month was more than anything we could have asked for. At one point, there so many attendees that you could hardly see the art in the museum! A big thank you to the Exhibitions Committee for coordinating this amazing exhibition, participating artists for making the show so diverse and everyone who came to show support. we appreciate all of you!
In case you missed the reception the museum will be releasing a number of dates released for events including artist talks, and even sculpture demos on International Sculpture Day!
Info about the exhibition: “A Question of Balance: Selected Works from Pacific Rim Sculptors.” Artworks for the exhibition were selected by jurors Jeff Nathanson (MSC) and Kate Eilertsen (Di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art). Artists used their own interpretations in materials, techniques, subject matter, or a combination of concepts to address the theme of balance. The resulting exhibition features 45 sculptors representing a diverse range of approaches, techniques, and materials. Included are sculptural works in metal, wood, stone, mixed media, and installation in sizes ranging from nine inches to over 12 feet in height!

Natasha DikarevaNatasha Dikareva's solo exhibition, Through Sorrow Into Light, at the Art Center Sarasota, delves into the depths of our shared human struggle. Like guardians of a shattered realm, these sculptures remain standing among the wreckage, punctured with holes that speak of both vulnerability and resilience. Within their melancholy, there is a quiet whisper of hope - a call to embrace empathy, love, and light. They remind us that even in our darkest hours, there exists a path toward enlightenment.
